SUZANNE GAULTIER | BETWEEN MEMORY AND DREAM
My artwork focuses on personal experiences, memories and my relationship to the environment. My roots, travel, architecture, landscape, light, heat and the cold all have an influence my work. The varying moods of the environment are a source of inspiration as well. I am motivated to absorb my surroundings and to create a unique visual experience that impresses on the viewer a new truth and journey.
"In Between Imagination and Dream" is an invitation to such a journey. This body of work is an exploration of the world that exists at the interface of our imagination and our dreams. It is world that is vaguely based in reality and inspired from all sources. In this world I invite you to experience the sensation of color, texture, form and landscape that takes you beyond the superficial. Feel the temperature of the colors, the grit of the sand and the shape of the stones. Peel back the layers of paint to expose cityscapes. Let your eyes dance with shifting spontaneous colors. Embrace the mood of the abstract spaces. In my world nothing is banal or taken for granted. It is a place where one can explore the known in an unknown way.
BIOGRAPHY
Suzanne Gaultier is an artist and teacher born in French rural Manitoba. She holds degrees both in Art and Education at the University of Manitoba. She currently is a member of the "Center d'Art Visuel de l'Alberta" in Edmonton, Alberta. Having lived in Canada, the USA, South America and Europe, Suzanne has enjoyed the opportunity of exposing her work both at home and internationally. Painting primarily in acrylic, Suzanne explores a world that exists between abstraction and imagination: sharing stories that are witness to different experiences in her life.
Suzanne Gaultier est artiste et enseignante, née au Canada. Elle tient des diplômes en Beaux Arts et en Education de l'Université de Manitoba, Canada. Elle fait partie du groupe d'artistes « Centre d'art Visuel de l'Alberta », Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Suzanne a expose ses pièces d'arts dans des expositions jurées, et privées dans l'ouest du Canada et en Europe. Peignant plutôt en acrylique, Suzanne s'intéresse a explorer sur ses toiles des espaces entre l'abstraction et l'imagination, comme des histoires qui témoingnent de différents énévements de sa vie.
